Srinagar, Jan 2: (GNS) Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has come down heavily against the teachers and headmasters owing to the poor performance shown by some government schools – as revealed in the recently declared 10th Class results.

It has termed the poor performance as a matter of grave concern which needs to be addressed “immediately”.

According to GNS, DSEK issued an order saying, “It has been observed that some government schools have performed poorly. Even in some cases zero performance has been recorded which is a matter of grave concern and needs to be addressed immediately by fixing responsibility.”

It added that all the remedial measures have to be taken so that such situation is not repeated in future.

DSEK ordered the following mechanism to be strictly followed to deal such situation.

“In case of schools where zero pass percentage has been recorded, all teaching staff including headmaster to be suspended immediately. Teachers having below 20% result in their respective subject to be suspended while the increment of those teachers having 50% result in their respective subjects to be stopped,” it said.

All the above staff is to be deployed for remedial teaching within their own school during vacations so that they prepare students for supplementary exam to be held in February 2019 as already agreed by BOSE, the order said.

DSEK said all the arrangements on account of remedial classes are to be done by poor performing teaching staff of these schools.

The Directorate also said that Principal DIETs will monitor the progress and functioning of remedial teaching in these schools and report on weekly basis. (GNS)
