Govt forces launch massive searches in Mankote Poonch amid ‘suspicious movement’ of militants

Poonch, Jan 28 : Government Forces on Monday launched a large scale joint cordon and search operation following “suspicious movement” of militants in Mankote area in Poonch district.

Official sources told that army’s 37 and 39 RR, SOG and Mendhar police launched the joint search operation amid reports of suspicious movement of militants in Mankote area, falling on this side of Line of Control.

SHO Mendhar Inayat Ahmad when contacted confirmed to news agency that search operation has been launched following the “suspicious movement” of the militants in the area.

Also, sources said, Baloni and Ghani areas in Kishan Ghati sectors. “All these areas have a thick forest cover,” the officials added. (GNS)
