Sopore forest officer dies in Handwara road accident

Handwara, Jan 28 : An assistant director of protection force died in a road accident mishap in North Kashmir’s Handwara Village.

Reports said that an army vehicle hit with a private four wheeler vehicle bearing registration number JK05 B 5769 at Chogul village on Monday afternoon resulting in on spot dead of officer who was driving the car.

The deceased officer identified as Aijaz Rasool of Model town Sopore.

Meanwhile soon after this news spread in the area scores of people including women came out to register their protest against local army camp and demanded strict action to the army driver.

A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations taken up in this regard.
