Home Minister Rajnath Singh chairs high level security meeting NSA, Home secretary, RAW chief other intelligence officers attend meeting, MHA issues advisory for safety of Kashmiri students

Srinagar, Jan 16: Barely few hours after all-party meeting discuss the Pulwama attack that left 40 security personnel dead, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a high-level security review meeting at his Delhi residence.
Top MHA sources told Kashmir Indepth that RAW chief AK Dhasmana, Additional Director IB Arvind Kumar, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba & NSA Ajit Doval attend the meeting held at the residence of the home minister.
Sources said that National Conference (NC) leader and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah was also present at Home minister’s residence at the time of meeting.
Sources said that the home minister review the security situation and the top security officials are learnt to have made a presentation on the Pulwama attack and the overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
At least 40 CRPF personnel were killed and five injured on Thursday in one of the deadliest attacks in Jammu and Kashmir when a suicide bomber rammed a vehicle reportedly carrying over 100 kg of explosives into their bus in Pulwama district.
Meanwhile sources said that on the directions of home minister the MHA today issued an advisory to all states and UTs to take necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of Kashmiri students and other residents in the other states of India.
There have been some reports of students and other residents of Jammu and Kashmir experiencing threats and intimidation in the wake of attack in Pulwama.
Sources said that earlier the all-party meeting attended by almost all the national political parties, discuss the security situation in the aftermath of the Pulwama attack.
Sources said that the parties, including the BJP and the Congress, passed a resolution condemning the attack.
Sources further told said that the all-party meeting was attended by Congress senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma and Jyotiraditya Scindia of the Congress, Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Derek O’ Brien of the Trinamool, Sanjay Raut of the Shiv Sena, D Raja of the Left, Farooq Abdullah of the National Conference, Ram Vilas Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party among others.
Sources said that opposition leaders asked union home minister to request Prime Minister Narendra Modi on their behalf to call a meeting of national and regional parties.
Sources said that the government briefed the parties about the attack in Pulwama and the steps being taken so far.
Sources said that home minister who chaired the all-party meeting also spoke strongly about the violence that broke out in Jammu after the attack, saying that no communal attacks will be tolerated.
It is to mention here that Home Minister Rajnath Singh visited Jammu and Kashmir Friday where he held meetings with security officers and also carried the coffin of a soldier killed in the attack.
