Jammu Blast: 17-year old non local succumbs, injured toll mounts to 29

 

Jammu, March 7 : A 17-year old non local who was injured critically in a grenade explosion today in bus stand Jammu, succumbed to injuries.

Inspector General of Police Jammu Division M K Sinha said that the person Mohd Shariq son of Intijar of Toda, Kalyanpur Ahatmal,Hardiwar in Uttarakhand succumbed to injuries in Government Medical College Jammu.

Further a total of 29 persons reported sustained splinter injuries and are undergoing treatment in GMC hospital, IGP said.

He said that among injured the condition of four more persons is said to be serious.

Earlier IGP said that some suspected persons lobbed a grenade on bus stand Jammu.

They said that soon after the blast a large contingent of government forces reached to the spot and launched a hunt to nab the attackers.

Meanwhile, official sources said that ten persons were detained by police Jammu for questioning in connection with the grenade blast. (GNS)
