Schools reopen in Kashmir after three-month-long winter break

Srinagar, Mar 11 : After remaining closed for three-months for winter vacations, the private as well as government schools across the Valley reopened on Monday.

Prepare for the greatest experience after eating a nutritious breakfast. You will travel over some of the highest passes in the world on your adventure, and you will be greeted by ever-changing vistas of the desolate landscape. Stop at the café on Khardung-La Pass, the highest all-season motorable road in the world, and take in the scenery; you'll feel as though you're on top of the world. Upon leaving Khardung-la, the terrain changes to a white sand desert as you approach the Nubra Valley, which is home to the Nubra Sand Dunes. Visit the Diskit Monastery, the oldest and biggest monastery in Ladakh, which also contains a sizable Buddha statue, if time permits.

Amid rainfall in the Valley, the students were happy to join their classes and to meet with their friends after three months of break.

The students wore new uniforms having lunch boxes in their hands. “I feel happy to join my classes again after spending more than two months at home,” a student from Old City while waiting for his school bus at Baba Demb said.

He said that during the period of three months, he missed his teachers, his classmates, friends and his school. “Now, the reopening of school from today has brought happiness among me,” he said.

Government had closed all schools up to 8th standard from December 06 last year while the High and Higher Secondary Schools were closed from December 17.

The winter vacations for primary to class 8th was scheduled to end on March 02 2018, but was later extended due to the weather conditions. (KNS)
