Drug Peddler arrested in Anantnag

 

March 21: One person was arrested today during a checkpoint at Batengoo following an action targeting those involved in drug peddling in South Kashmir.

One person identified as Mudasir Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Majeed resident of Batengoo arrested for the drug offences has been taken to Police Station Anantnag where he remains in custody.

Officers at the checkpoint have seized 570 bottles of codeine phosphate from his possession.

Case FIR No 28/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Anantnag.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep your society free from the scourge of drug menace.
