Sopore Cordon-and-search Operation: Gunfight breaks out in Warpora

Srinagar, March 22 : A gunfight broke out between militants and goverment forces in Warpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday morning.

SSP Sopore Javeed Iqbal told that the gunfight started in the area today morning after the joint team of forces intensified the searches.

The search operation was suspended late Thursday evening in wake of darkness in the area, SSP had said.

The joint team of police and army’s 22 RR had jointly launched search operation in the village.

Pertinently, A police officer was among two cops Injured on Thursday in an ongoing gunfight when militants fired upon outer cordon party. (GNS)
