Two drug peddlers arrested  in Srinagar

Srinagar, March 23 : Two persons were arrested today following an action targeting those involved in drug peddling in Central Kashmir.

Two persons identified as Javid Ahmad Ganie son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Natipora and Shoaib Nazir Pandith son of Nazir Ahmad resident of Nundresh Colony Bemina arrested for the drug offences have been taken to Police Station Nigeen where they remain in custody.

Officers have seized 120 bottles of codeine phosphate from their possession. During the investigation, it has come to fore that the duo used to sell these contraband medicines among the youth of the city on exorbitant rates.

Case FIR No 25/2019 under relevant sections has been registered in PS Nigeen.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep your society free from the scourge of drug menace.
