Army soldier killed in landslide in Machil sector

Srinagar March 31 : An army soldier was killed on Sunday after he came under a landslide in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

A police official told that the soldier namely Hawaldar Satvir Singh of 45 RR was part of patrolling party when he came under the landslide today in the afternoon near Ashwani Post along Line of Control (LoC).

In the incident, Singh, a resident of Mathura Uttarpradesh sustained serious injuries and was immediately shifted to military hospital Drugmulla.

However, doctors present there declared him brought dead on arrival. (GNS)
