Squardon leader among two Air Force personnel killed in Pulwama mishap

Srinagar, April 4: Two officers of Air Force were killed and as many were injured after a vehicle they were traveling in met with an accident during pre-dawn hours Thursday in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A police officer told that the speedy Gypsy bearing registration number 08B-97411 of Air Force wing collided with an electric pole near Railway Station at Malangpora at around 3:00 am.

In the incident, four personnel of Air Force were injured and were evacuated to army’s 92 base hospital Badamibagh here for treatment, the officer said, adding that among the injured two of them identified as Squadron Leader R.K Panday and Corporal Ajay Kumar succumbed later.

The injured have been identified as  Corporal Sukhjeet Singh and Wing Commander H.S Bagga.

“A case under FIR number 51/2019 under section 279, 304 A and 337 RPC was registered and further investigations taken up in this regard,” the officer said. (GNS)
