Biggest damage to Article 370 during Mehbooba tenure : Omar

Srinagar, April 6 : National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah Saturday lashed out at PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti for holding his party responsible for erosion of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and autonomy.

“Just look at her track record. The biggest damage to Article 370 happened during her tenure when GST was applied to the state,” he said.

Omar also held Mehbooba responsible for NIA issuing repeated summons to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

“Again it was during her tenure that NIA registered a case against Mirwaiz and is now issuing summons to him for questioning,” Omar told reporters on the sidelines on a party convention in Kupwara.

He welcomed as “better late than never” Congress party’s pledge to repeal AFSPA from Jammu and Kashmir “Had they taken the same stand before, AFSPA would have been repealed from Jammu and Kashmir in 2014,” he said. (GNS)
