DDC Kishtwar inaugurates Dialysis Centre at District Hospital Kishtwar

Kishtwar, July 19: For the first time, a dialysis centre offering services to Reneal failure cases at affordable rates was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana at District Hospital Kishtwar here under the scheme of Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis (PMND) Programme.

ADDC Kishtwar, Mohd. Hanief Malik, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kishtwar, Dr. Abdul Majeed Malik, Dy. CMO Kishtwar, Dr. Yaqoob, Medical Superintendent, S.D. Attri, XEN R&B, Kishtwar Mohinder Kumar besides staff of Health and others remained present on the occasion.

While inaugurating the Dialysis centre, DDC Kishtwar congratulated the people of Kishtwar and said that before this the patients of district suffering from renal failure particularly those belonging to poor strata group had to face tremendous hardships for undergoing treatment either at Jammu or Srinagar.

He stated that the said dialysis center will cater to the needs of many patients and it will also prove a boon for the economically backward sections and poor people.

He further asked participants present in the function to disseminate the information about this facility and encourage the people to seek the services.

The dialysis unit, equipped with 3 dialysis machines along with Reverse Osmosis (RO) water plant infrastructure, dialyzer and consumables, will help in providing advanced treatment to the patients.

The cost of each Dialysis session for APL patients has been fixed at Rs 950, however it will be free for BPL patients and under Aysuhman Bharat, the cost of which shall be reimbursed by NHM, J&K.

It is pertinent to mention here that under Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme 03 Dialysis machines costing 19.25 lacs and other allied infrastructure like RO, water plant etc. costing Rs 18.00 lacs stand installed at District Hospital, Kishtwar
