Volleyball Championship league organized by Rafiabad Army Concludes

Prepare for the greatest experience after eating a nutritious breakfast. You will travel over some of the highest passes in the world on your adventure, and you will be greeted by ever-changing vistas of the desolate landscape. Stop at the café on Khardung-La Pass, the highest all-season motorable road in the world, and take in the scenery; you'll feel as though you're on top of the world. Upon leaving Khardung-la, the terrain changes to a white sand desert as you approach the Nubra Valley, which is home to the Nubra Sand Dunes. Visit the Diskit Monastery, the oldest and biggest monastery in Ladakh, which also contains a sizable Buddha statue, if time permits.

With a view to constructively engage the youth of the Area.of responsibility(AOR), Rafiabad Army organised a volleyball tournament at Chatussa Company operating base wef 17 Jul 2019 to 21 Jul 2019.

A total of 12 teams from Rafiabad participated in the championship. The event attracts more significance since the tournament is being jointly conducted by Army & civilians together.

The final match was played today on 21 Jul 2019 between Yarbug vs Sheikpura villages. In a strongly contested match, Yarbug village emerged victorious.

The champion team and the runners up team were awarded cash prizes of Rs 20000 and Rs 10000 each by Commanding Officer, 32 RR. The event was attended by SDPO Rafiabad,DYSP Nisar Ahmad (KPS) and all village elderlies of nearby villages. Tea and refreshments were provided at the end during which youths and Army personnel interacted on various local issues.

All the villagers and youths were appreciative of the efforts being put in by Army in the region and requested for more such events in future too.
