Prepare for the greatest experience after eating a nutritious breakfast. You will travel over some of the highest passes in the world on your adventure, and you will be greeted by ever-changing vistas of the desolate landscape. Stop at the café on Khardung-La Pass, the highest all-season motorable road in the world, and take in the scenery; you'll feel as though you're on top of the world. Upon leaving Khardung-la, the terrain changes to a white sand desert as you approach the Nubra Valley, which is home to the Nubra Sand Dunes. Visit the Diskit Monastery, the oldest and biggest monastery in Ladakh, which also contains a sizable Buddha statue, if time permits.

1. As the Nation is preparing to celebrate 20th Kargil War Vijay Diwas Day with pomp & gaiety, the Awam & Jawan of Rafiabad were not to be left behind on this joyous & momentous occasion. The spirit of Patriotism was on grandeurs display.

2. The Rafiabad Army in continuation of its credo “Awaam Aur Jawan, Aman Hai Muqaam” in true spirit, organised Flag Hoisting, Drawing Competition and Screening of a documentary on Kargil war at all COBs of the Battalion in the presence of Awaam. The National fervour displayed by the young children was delightful to watch. It was heartening to see the Awam coming together with Jawan for celebration of National festival of Kargil War Vijay Diwas, which brings in togetherness and equality among all the citizens of this great Nation.

3. A strength of 166 children participated in the drawing competition with full zeal and enthusiasm. Their creativity and competitive spirit was a pleasant sight to see. The colourful event was concluded by giving away prizes to the forerunners and complementary prizes to all the participates. Thereafter, Jawans interacted with the children during tea and their cheerful faces were witness to the fact that they were elated at the event.

4. The event also provided an opportunity to connect with the youths and will go a long way in cementing existing bonhomie between Awaam and Jawan of Rafiabad.
