Robbers strike in Sopore, cash and valuables looted

Sopore, July 28 : Masked men brandishing a toy gun looted a residential house in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday night.

Reports reaching said that masked men carrying a toy gun threatened a family and took away their belongings.

An official told news agency that they fled away with some cash and a mobile phone from a residential house of Mohammad Altaf Janwari Son of Late Ghulam Qadir Janwari of Alamdar Mohallah in Krankshivan area of Sopore on Saturday night.

On the gun point, these robbers looted Fifty one thousand eight hundred cash and a mobile phone from the house and flew away after we screamed for help said a family member to news agency over phone. He said these masked men held family members hostage in their own house and looted cash.

A police officer also confirmed the incident to news agency and said a team has been deputed there to verify the incident. Officer said more details will be shared after veryfying the incident.(GNS)
