Snow Leopard Brigade organises tour for young Minds of the Gurez valley

Srinagar,Sep 05:  An educational cum motivational tour sponsored by Indian Army for 24 boys and girls of the Gurez Valley of Bandipur District in Northern Kashmir was flagged off from Dawar to Jaipur, Ajmer and Delhi by Commander, Snow Leopard Brigade. The tour spanning over 10 days has been organised on the popular demand of locals by the Dawar Battalion under the aegis of Snow Leopard Brigade. The aim of the tour is to provide an opportunity to the students belonging to the remote areas of Gurez Valley to interact with students of their age group of other states, Civil and Military Dignitaries, appreciate the rich cultural heritage, cultural grandeur and progress made by our nation in various fields.

Prepare for the greatest experience after eating a nutritious breakfast. You will travel over some of the highest passes in the world on your adventure, and you will be greeted by ever-changing vistas of the desolate landscape. Stop at the café on Khardung-La Pass, the highest all-season motorable road in the world, and take in the scenery; you'll feel as though you're on top of the world. Upon leaving Khardung-la, the terrain changes to a white sand desert as you approach the Nubra Valley, which is home to the Nubra Sand Dunes. Visit the Diskit Monastery, the oldest and biggest monastery in Ladakh, which also contains a sizable Buddha statue, if time permits.

The young boys and girls will be visiting various places of historical and religious interest to include Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort and City Palace at Jaipur, Dargah Sharif at Ajmer and Red Fort, Jama Masjid and India Gate at Delhi. The students will be interacting with the students of IIT Delhi and other renowned schools. Interaction has also been planned with civil and military dignitaries at Jaipur and Delhi and will also be visiting to military establishment, Ajmer.

The joy and anticipation of experiencing the eventful journey was clearly evident on the faces of the students and locals present for the flag off ceremony. This initiative of Indian Army looked promising and will go a long way in integrating the nation by spreading the message of unity, amity and harmony.
