Srinagar : Three militants have been killed in an ongoing gunfight in south Kashmir’s Awantipora village.

Sources told that three militants have been killed sofar in an ongoing gunfight at Raj mohalla Tral in Awantipora.

The search operation is underway in the area sources said.

Jammu and Kashmir Police also confirmed the killing of three militants through tweet which reads #Awantipora #encounter update: 03 #terrorists killed. #Arms & ammunition recovered. Identities and affiliations being ascertained. #Search in the area continues. @JmuKmrPolice.

The encounter broke out in Awantipora village on Tuesday evening after forces on a specific input launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
