Tral Shrine fire: Div Com orders reconstruction in three months

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 28: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today chaired a meeting to review the reconstruction of Ladies compound adjacent to Asar Sharief shrine at Kousarbal, Tral which was gutted in fire incidence on the intervening night of November 25-26.

It was informed that R&B department had prepared an estimate of Rs 22 lacs for the reconstruction of Ladies compound of the shrine.

The Divisional Commissioner directed Chief Engineer R&B to complete the tendering process at earliest so that the construction work is completed within three months.

 Chief Engineer R&B was directed to ensure that the compound is reconstruction on the pattern of the original structure in consultation with local Auqaf committee.

He further said that the reconstruction work will be monitored by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Chief Engineer R&B, SSP Awantipora and Additional Deputy Commissioner in consultation with the governing body of the shrine. The asked officers to regularly inspect the pace of work for its completion in time bound manner.

The Divisional Commissioner asked for submission of weekly report by Chief Engineer R&B and Additional Deputy Commissioner Tral to Deputy Commissioner Pulwama regarding the progress of the work.

Chief Engineer R&B, Additional Commissioner Kashmir Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tral, Assistant Commissioner (central) with Div Com, Representatives of local Auqaf committee and other concerned officers, attended the meeting. Deputy Commissioner Pulwama and SSP Awantipora participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
