PDD extra-charged bills worried consumers

Srinagar Dec 30: Residents of uptown areas alleged Power Development Department (PDD) of delivering extra-charged electricity bills and have appealed concern authorities to rectify the data without leaving consumers into inconvenience.

Residents of uptown areas including Baghat, Natipora, Rambagh, Nayakbagh, Nowgam, Chanapora and Gulshan Nagar have alleged PDD of delivering extra-charged electricity bills for the month of November.

Residents while talking to news agency said that PDD left consumers surprised when electricity bill for the month of November has come over-charged. They said though the consumption units are mentioned accurate but the charges to be paid are beyond imagination.

Abdul Rashid Digoo of Chanapora said the field staff of PDD is usually documenting the meter reading but today we are shocked to see the charges imposed in this regard.

He further said that the error by the department has left several consumers into inconvenience who are compelled to visit PDD office Chanapora and others for rectifying the error.

Similarly several residents of Nowgam and Gulshan Nagar have also complained of same problems. (JKNS)
