Budgam police arrests 03 drug peddlers, psychotropic substance seized

February 11: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Budgam arrested 03 drug peddlers and seized psychotropic substances from their possession.

Officers from Police Station Budgam arrested one drug peddler during daily routine checking at IG road identified as Irfan Ahmed Dar resident of Humhama. During the course of investigation officers learnt about involvement of two more drug peddlers. Officers arrested both drug peddlers from Humhama identified as Suhail Yousuf Bhat and Ishfaq Ahmed Sofi, both residents of Humhama. During search, officers were able to recover 1352 tablets of Tramadol and 58 bottles of Codeine from their possession. All the arrested persons have been shifted to police station Budgam where they remain in custody.

 Case FIR No 44/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in police station Budgam. Further investigation in the case is going on.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.
