Militant associate of Jaish arrested in central Kashmir: Police

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday arrested a militant associate linked to militant outfit JeM in Budgam district.

In a statement issued here, a police spokesman said, “Based on a credible input, a checkpoint was established at Khansahib.

Officers at the checkpoint intercepted an individual Saqib Ahmad Lone resident of Wager Khansahib and incriminating material was recovered from his possession.”Adding that as per police records he is involved in assisting the active militants of the outfit operating in the areas of Khansahib. 

“He is also involved in providing logistic support, shelter to JeM militants operating in the area.” reads the statement. A case under the relevant section of law has been registered in Police Station Khansahib and further investigation in the matter is in progress.

Incriminating materials recovered from his possession have been taken into records to probe his complicity in terror crimes.
