Justice Magray visits Baramulla, reviews Judicial functioning

BARAMULLA, MARCH 07: Jammu and Kashmir High Court Judge, Justice Ali Mohammad Magray, who is also the Administrative Judge for District Baramulla today visited District Court Complex where he took appraisal of various judicial and other matters.

Justice Magray inspected various sections of District Court Complex Baramulla.

Principal District and Sessions Judge Sanjeev Gupta briefed Justice Magray about the day-to-day functioning besides various facilities for litigants and lawyers.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Magray stressed on ensuring speedy, inexpensive and timely disposal of pending cases. He directed enhanced endeavors with reference to disposal of cases in line with the mandate of the law. Moreover, the Judge emphasized on disposal of pending cases through Alternative Disputes Redressal (ADR) where both parties have win-win situation without wasting time and money.

Meanwhile, Justice Magray took review of developmental activities undertaken by various executing agencies in different courts of the district wherein he stressed to ramp up the pace of work so that they are completed within stipulated timeframe.

Issues that were discussed on the occasion included initiation of construction work on residential quarters in court complex Sopore, submission of DPR for the construction of Dangiwacha Court Complex etc.

1st Additional District Judge Baramulla Naseer Ahmad Dar, Additional District Sessions Judge Sopore Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Sub Judge Baramulla (Secretary DLSA) Faizan ul Haq Iqbal, SE R&B, members of Baramulla Bar Association among others were present on the occasion.

Later, Justice Magray held an interactive meeting with the members of Baramulla Bar Association wherein they apprised him with various issues and demands pertaining to overall welfare of the judiciary. They demanded that the vacant posts of Judicial Officers be filled on fast track basis so that the work is not hampered.

The Bar Members also demanded that special preventive measures need to be taken in view of the spread of COVID-19, commonly known as Novel Coronavirus.

On the occasion, Justice Magray issued strict directions to the concerned authorities to adopt all the requisite measures especially in different court complexes so that any kind of eventuality is tackled. He also stressed upon the Bar Members to play a proactive role in educating and disseminating awareness among the people pertaining to the virus.
