Two boys drown in Wullar-Lake in Bandipora, one rescued, another missing

 Bandipora, Mar 07: A boy drowned while another was saved by by locals after they slipped into Wullar-lake in Laharwapora village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday morning.

Officials told wire service— that two boys identified as Waseem Ahmad Malla son of Abdul Khaliq(24) and Bilal Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Aziz Dar (19), both residents of Laharwapora Bandipora – slipped into the river.

They had come for sand extraction at around 06 PM in the morning.Soon after the incident, a rescue operation was started by local volunteers in the area.

“Bilal was saved by timely intervention of the local-volunteers while waseem is still missing,” sources said. The official said that a rescue operation is underway to locate the missing boy from the wullar-lake reported KNO.
