Bandipora admin establishes control room, 71 surveillance teams for coronavirus

BANDIPORA, MARCH 11: District Administration Bandipora has constituted 71 surveillance teams at the block level in the district to ensure that each and every suspected case of Corona virus is scrutinized and brought into the notice of administration for further course of action, the teams will operate under the District level Surveillance team headed by District Development Commissioner Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza.

      Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh said that the 71 surveillance teams comprise of Revenue officials at block level along with representatives of Health Department and Anganwari workers have been constituted in the district  while five Rapid Response Teams have also been constituted that will report to District Level Surveillance team. The Corona surveillance teams will compile the reports from block level teams on daily basis.

      Meanwhile a Control Rooms have also been constituted at district level and block level in the district under the supervision of ACR Bandipora which will be functional 24×7.  Chief Medical Officer Bandipora also issued a roosters for officers who shall be available in the district level Control Room. Three block level control rooms have also been constituted at Hajin, Bandipora and Gurez under the supervision of concerned Tehsildars with concerned BMOs as the heads of their respective teams.

The district administration Bandipora on Wednesday also organized a day-long training cum sensitization programme for the surveillance teams. The programme was chaired by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Beigh.

Chief Medical Officer Bandipora Dr Tajamul, District Information Officer Jahangeer Akhoon were also present on the occasion.

      During the training session, experts briefed the participants about various SOPs to be adopted for scrutinizing the suspected cases of novel corona virus.  They asked trainees to work with dedication to protect the public from deadly spreading corona virus by being more committed and watchful towards their duties which are assigned to them.

Detailed presentations on the subject were held wherein experts briefed the participants about preventive measures that need to be taken, to avert the infection.

Speaking on the occasion, ACR Bandipora stressed upon the participants to play a proactive role in the campaign by educating people in their respective areas about the novel Corona virus, asking them to identify all such persons who have the travel history from the affected regions or to abroad and share the details with administration on the numbers of control room so that necessary action shall be initiated at earliest to avoid any hue and cry.

He said if someone has travel history to foreign country especially affected country or have some symptoms they should come forward and get them medically examined. He urged the people to adopt prescribed preventive measures and cooperate with the authorities in this regard, besides instructing them to endorse more cautiousness and appealed them not to be panic. He also ensured that district administration is well equipped to handle the virus.
