Kashmir Chess Championship concludes


Srinagar: Kashmir Province 2019-20 organized by All J&K Chess Association under aegis of J&K State Sports Council concluded on Monday at TRC Dalgate.


A spokesperson in a statement said the championship was stated on 13-02-2019.
“About 80 players both boys and girls from all districts of Kashmir valley participated in it. The championship was sponsored by J&K State Sports Council,” the statement says.


As per the statement, in senior boys category, Javid Ahmad secured 1st position, Sarief -din bagged 2nd position and 3rd by Comrade Gowhar position.


In girls category, Bhat Aqsa,  Syed Daraksha, and Baseerat ul  Nisa bagged 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position respectively.


Besides in last day of event first time Blitz tournament was organized by association for valley players which was widely appreciated.


Khalid Ahmad Baba, Adil Ashraf was declared winner and were honored with cash prizes.

Players expressed hope that J&K State Sports Council, All J&K Chess association will organize such events also in future.  Abdul Rashid Wani was chief arbiter, while as Burhan Ahmad and Mushtaq Ahmad were assistant arbiters of the whole event.
