BJP hails admin for Covid-19 efforts in Kashmir

‘Appreciates IGP Kashmir, DC Srinagar, SMC Mayor for playing a crucial role’: Manzoor Bhat

Srinagar, March 24: BJP’s Kashmir unit Tuesday hailed efforts of divisional administration to combat the spread of deadly coronavirus in Kashmir urging people to strictly follow government advisories.

Party’s Kashmir media In-charge, Manzoor Bhat hailed the efforts of divisional administration led by Pandurang Kondbarao Pole, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, SMC Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu and other health officials who are at forefront to fight the COVID-19.

“Doctors, health workers, sanitation employees should be given proper protection gear as they are directly dealing with Covid-19 cases and are on front line to tackle any situation,” he said.

Bhat said the administration should also allocate special funds to the essential department for making different purchases including protection gears, masks, and other facilities.

He said from the past 10-12 days, local administration is on toes and all measures are being taken to ensure the safety and security of people.

While appealing people, Bhat said they should cooperate with the police and other security forces in enforcing lockdown. “These measures are being taken to save from the deadly disease which has hit over 164 countries across the globe,” Bhat said.

Bhat said people of every country are passing through this crucial time and there is need for joint efforts to combat Covid-19 spread in the valley.

“The entire effort of government is that the citizens of the state survive the infection of this epidemic. People should be advised safety measures and maintain social distance while visiting any place,” he said.

He also said in view of COVID-19, the central government and Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu administration should announce a special package for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Reacting to release of J&K former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Bhat said people of Kashmir has rejected the family rule politics as they have suffered during the past 70 years.

“Hundreds of people were killed during his government in 2010 and from the past 8 months no civilian was been killed on the streets,” he said adding that situation remained peaceful after August 2019.

As per Bhat, people of Kashmir have no hope from the Abdullah’s as they have deceived them. “People want to see change and that is why BJP is getting a positive response in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
