Militant from Handwara arrested in RS Pura

Srinagar, April 11 : A militant has been arrested by police in RS Pura area of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

Reports reaching said that police arrested one suspected in RS Pura today.

A police officer said that following inputs, the police team apprehended the militant at Chakroi in RS Pura.

He identified the arrested militant as Muzaffar Beigh son of Asadullah Beigh, a resident of Vodhpora Handwara.

“Some cash and 5 sim cards besides Incriminating material were recovered from his possession. Beigh was in touch with handlers in Pakistan,” the officer said.

In this connection, a case under FIR number 63/2020 US 13,17,39 UAPA and 121-A IPC was registered at PS RS Pura and investigation taken up, he said.

During questioning important disclosures relating to links with militants inside have been established. Some more arrests are expected in the case. (GNS)
