Doctor accuses Nursing Homeowner of ‘fraud’

Handwara, Apr 18,: A doctor in North Kashmir’s Handwara town has filed a police complaint against the owner of a Nursing Home for allegedly using his name and prescriptions to mint money from the naïve patients while he was outside country.

Prepare for the greatest experience after eating a nutritious breakfast. You will travel over some of the highest passes in the world on your adventure, and you will be greeted by ever-changing vistas of the desolate landscape. Stop at the café on Khardung-La Pass, the highest all-season motorable road in the world, and take in the scenery; you'll feel as though you're on top of the world. Upon leaving Khardung-la, the terrain changes to a white sand desert as you approach the Nubra Valley, which is home to the Nubra Sand Dunes. Visit the Diskit Monastery, the oldest and biggest monastery in Ladakh, which also contains a sizable Buddha statue, if time permits.

Dr Shafqat was doing private practice at a Nursing Home in Handwara till 2018 and after that he left for Dubai. “The patients who don’t know me used to come in the Nursing Home and ironically the owner of the Nursing Home was masquerading as Dr Shafqat, prescribing medicines to them on my behalf and thus was befooling them,” he told.

He said all these months the owner of the Nursing Home befooled people and minted money from them. “When I came to know about this shoddy practice, I returned to Valley and interacted with those patients who have been looted by the Nursing Home owner,” he said adding that strict action needs to be taken against the culprit.

“I have proof to prove my claim and I won’t spare people who play with the lives of people for sake of money,” he said.

Dr Shafqat said that he lodged a complaint at Police Station Handwara but so for no FIR has been lodged against the accused.

When contacted, Station House Officer Handwara said that only senior officer can talk on the issue. SDPO, Handwara feigned ignorance about the complaint and said he doesn’t know anything about it. (KNT)
