DGP J&K visits Kistwar

Reviews security scenario and COVID-19 preparation


Srinagar, Apr 20 (KINS): To review the security scenario and COVID-19 preparation the Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh on Monday visited District Kishtwar.

You will travel over some of the highest passes in the world on your adventure, and you will be greeted by ever-changing vistas of the desolate landscape. Stop at the café on Khardung-La Pass, the highest all-season motorable road in the world, and take in the scenery; you'll feel as though you're on top of the world. Upon leaving Khardung-la, the terrain changes to a white sand desert as you approach the Nubra Valley, which is home to the Nubra Sand Dunes. Visit the Diskit Monastery, the oldest and biggest monastery in Ladakh, which also contains a sizable Buddha statue, if time permits.

According to the police statement issued to news agency KINS the DGP chaired a meeting of officers from Army, CRPF and jurisdictional Police officers at District Police Lines.

He also addressed Police officers and officials during his visit.The DGP was accompanied by the IGP Jammu Zone Shri Mukesh Singh and DIG DKR Range Shri Abdul Jabbar.
“During his visit, the DGP chaired security review meeting with Army, CRPF and Police officers to review the security situation and preparation/measures taken to contain the spread of Novel Corona Virus in the district. The DGP lauded the Police personnel and other security forces for hunting down the two terrorists who were involved in the recent attack on two SPOs. He said the synergy between the forces in J&K has been acknowledged by7 the governments at highest levels”.
“The DGP directed the officers to strengthen the security grid and plug the gaps with strict security measures to root out the residual militancy in the area. He stressed to take stringent action against those involved in the anti-national activities. He instructed the officers to use the new technology in neutralizing militants”.

“The DGP during the meeting reviewed the preparation/measures taken to contain the deadly virus from spreading. He directed the officers to take all necessary steps in implementing the government orders on ground. He directed the officers to follow the health protocols issued in maintaining social distancing among the general public. He stresses to use all resources in helping the needy people and also directed them to take strict action against those people who are defying or violating government orders.
SSP Kishtwar Shri Harmeet Singh and other officers gave the detailed briefing to the DGP about the security scenario and preparedness/measures taken against the fight of COVID-19 in their respective jurisdiction”.
The meeting besides IGP Jammu and DIG DKR range was attend by Brigadier 9 Sector RR Vikram Bhan, CO 26 RR Sanjay Hajra, CO 17 RR Vijay Solanki, CO 11 RR Nachiket Kodilkar, CO IRP 22nd Bn. Shivdeep Kumar, CO CRPF 52 Bn. Suresh Kumar and jurisdictional Gazetted Officers.

The DGP also visited Delta Force Headquarters and discussed security related matters with GoC Maj. General Ravi Murugan. IGP Jammu Zone, DIG DKR Range and SSP Ramban were also present in the discussions. (KINS)
