Two drug peddlers held in Sopore

Sopore : Police on Saturday said it arrested two drug peddlers from north Kashmir’s Sopore and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police statement said, in view of enhanced anti-social activities by miscreants, who have been taking the wrong advantage of the prevailing situation, a special team from Police Station Sopore, laid a snap Naka at main chowk Sopore and during surprise checking, intercepted one Eon Car, bearing Registration number JK05G 1730 color white, and apprehended two drug peddlers/suppliers who identified as Rohit Bashir S/O Bashir Ahmad and Danish Javaid S/O Javaid Ahmad both are residents of Delina Baramulla.

On thorough frisking of the vehicle a contraband of NDPS drugs was recoverd from the vehicle which was found to be kept cleverly inside the vehicle. Although the accused persons tried to cross the naka point trickishly but anyhow they were apprehended, without any further inconvenience.

Accordingly, appropriate legal procedures were invoked to initiate criminal proceedings into the matter, and a case FIR No. 85/2020, U/S 8/22, NDPS Act. has been lodged in the Police Station Sopore statement further reads.
