Dir Agri Kmr convenes review meeting with Chief Agriculture Officers through video conference

SRINAGAR, APRIL 30 Director, Agriculture, Kashmir, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi, today held a review meeting with all Chief Agriculture Officers through video conference.  A detailed review regarding progress of central sponsored schemes, Capex (Physical and Financial), Status of physical achievements made under additional funds, status of Kharief programmes, status of Mushroom and Apiculture Development works, progress of soil conservation works, progress under Soil Health Card scheme, latest status of KCC, PM-Kissan and PMKMY scheme was held in the meeting.

Director emphasized the officers to achieve the set targets in a time bound manner with transparency and accountability, so that the benefit of all the farmer friendly schemes percolates to the targeted beneficiaries.

Director said that the workforce of the department is doing is putting best efforts and are reaching to the farmers during the ongoing lockdown. He asked the officers to put forward additional requirement for Maize seed so that the quality seed is provided to the farmer well in time.

During the meeting, directions were passed to the officers to visit the concerned fields and advise farmers with respect to different preventive measures and modifications in the agricultural practices. He directed the  concerned officers to aware the farmers about health advisories issued by the Health department from time to time regarding maintaining social distance, hand washing and universal mask usage, while carrying out field operations.

Regarding mushroom cultivation, the director said that the department is committed to revive the sector on priority; he emphasized the officers to re-double efforts in making the beneficiary oriented mushroom development units functional in all the districts of the Kashmir division.

Details regarding the Kissan Credit Card and Soil Health Card schemes was also discussed in the meeting.
