Sopore May 2: A woman who was in dire need of medical treatment due to severe pregnancy complications was evacuated to hospital by Sopore Police amid lockdown in north Kashmir’s Rafiabad.
A police official said Sopore police today received SOS message from a distraught family that a pregnant lady residing in Dazna village of Rafiabad developed irresistible pain and needed immediate medical attention.
“Without wasting any time on the directions of SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal and under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Nisar Ahmad, SHO Dangiwacha Ashiq Hussain and his team rushed to the spot and evacuated her to Dangiwacha Rafiabad Hospital for checkup,” the official said.
SHO Dangiwacha Ashiq Hussain and his team came to help the woman at the right time and evacuated and escorted her to Dangiwacha Hospital in North Kashmir Rafiabad as family of the patient was unable to carry her to hospital due to non-availability of public transport and because of lockdown, the official said.
Talking to news agency KINS SHO Dangiwacha Ashiq Hussain said, “Shortly after received a message about a lady patient with severe pregnancy complications has been stuck in a village called Dazna in Pazalpora Rafiabad area of North Kashmir, on the directions of SSP Sopore Javiid iqbal, I along with my team rushed to the spot and rescued a woman with pregnancy-related complications and carried and escorted her to hospital in a private vehicle which was also hired by Sopore Police.”
Meanwhile an official of health department said that the lady received medical intervention at the right time and her condition is stable.
Family members of the said have thanked Sopore Police for the prompt response.
