Srinagar, May 26 (KINS): Reacting to the news reports that Chief Medical Officer of Bandipora are stopped at a check point for half-an hour by the police and not allowed to proceed to a quarantine centre, the police chief of the Bandipora district said that reports are baseless as none of the cop harassed or ill-treated the doctor.

Police said that it was on the directions of concerned Deputy Commissioner that a particular road was closed to decongest the main market and in between vehicle of CMO reached the spot and got stuck in between some other vehicles.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora Rahul Malik told news agency KINS that on the directions of concerned deputy commissioner of the district, a particular stretch was closed to decongest the market. “So there was a barricade. None of the police man at the spot did anything to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). The only thing is that CMO jumped and started shouting at the police men,” the SSP said.

He said the fact of the matter is that deputy superintendent of police headquarters also reached the spot and the issue was sorted there. “Somebody uploaded the video to draw the mileage,” Malik said.(KINS)
