Srinagar, June 20 (KINS): Army Tuesday said that it organized a blood donation camp at Shalateng garrison to support local health care and medical saving procedures amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to an Army statement issued to news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) the aim of the event was to bridge the void faced by blood banks, help the needful and save lives.
“The camp was conducted at Shalateng garrison on 29 Jun 2020 from 1130 hrs to 1500 hrs. Joint efforts of both Civ and Army made the event successful. Medical staff of 03 pers which included 01 Doctor and 02 nursing assistants was present to assist in conduction of the Blood Donation Camp. The camp commenced with a detailed explanation of the process of blood donation followed by screening of donors as per eligibility criteria and filling of blood donation form,” the statement reads.
“Thorough medical examination of donors was carried out by Medical officers prior commencement of donation.
Donors were then made comfortable in the donation hall, where they donated blood under direct supervision of medical staff. A total of 30 blood donors consisting 10 Officers, 02 JCOs and 18 ORs from Army came forward for the noble cause. The donors were also felicitated with certificates of blood donation by the organizer,”.(KINS)
