Ceasefire violation kills 3 family members in poonch

Jammu, July 18 (KINS): Three civilians belonging to a single-family including a husband-wife duo and their son were killed while another injured in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Khari Karmara village of Poonch district,officials said.

Officials have identified the deceased as 52-year-old Mohammad Rafiq, 50-year-old Rafiq Bi, and their son Irfan Ahmad.

Sources told news agency Kashmir Indpth News Service (KINS) that Pakistan poured heavy firing along LOC in Poonch resulting in casualty of civilians.

Police said that their house was hit by a shell fired by Pakistan Army in Khari Karmara sector of the LoC in Poonch district on Friday evening.

Meanwhile, A Defence Ministry spokesman said at around 7.20 p.m. on Friday, Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation along the LoC in Gulpur sector by firing with small arms and shelling with mortars.

“Pakistan also resorted to heavy unprovoked shelling in the Khari Karmara sector. Indian Army gave befitting response to Pakistan ceasefire violation,” the spokesman said.(KINS)
