Srinagar, Sep 29 (KINS): Jammu Kashmir Workers Party President Mir Junaid Tuesday demanded a quick provision for the inclusion of non-migrant Kashmiri Pandits in the reservation category for jobs that were kept aside for the migrant Kashmiri Pandits.
He in his statement urged the government to take quick action in giving a written confirmation to the already verbally made commitments by the government to them.
He said, “The non-migrant Pandits are a symbol of strength and bravery who stood firm and did not leave Kashmir while facing huge number of difficulties. They have been demanding this reservation for years now and it is unfortunate that they have had to hit the road forgetting a written confirmation from the government even after the orders were passed in their favor by the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir”.
Mir added, “JKWP stands in full support of the protesting non-migrant Kashmiri Pandits and we will make every effort for justice of non-migrant Kashmiri Pandits. This minority of Kashmiri has had to face internal migrations numerous times over the past thirty years but they never gave up on their motherland and despite all the threats kept the spirit of Kashmiriyat alive.”
Mir also said, “They are the members of the Pandit community and naturally qualify as a minority and they must be provided with their rights without any further delay.”
Mir urged the government to fast track the process of formalizing the orders of the High Court and send the protestors back to their homes happy and content.(KINS)
