Atal Dulloo visits GMC Jammu; reviews facilities being provided to COVID patients

Srinagar Oct 03, (KINS): Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education, Atal Dulloo, today visited Government Medical College Jammu and convened a meeting to take stock of medical facilities being provided to patients in the wake of COVID-19 besides reviewing implementation of decisions taken up in the previous meeting.
FC, while enquiring about the availability of oxygen cylinders in the GMC and its Associate Hospitals, was apprised that there is sufficient stock of oxygen cylinders and there is buffer stock of more than 500 oxygen cylinders in these hospitals.
Regarding delay in purchase orders and payments of companies for oxygen cylinders, the FC directed the concerned authorities to clear the payments at the earliest.
Atal Dulloo, while assessing the status of ventilators, strictly directed the hospital administration to ensure that all the ventilators are functional in all aspects.

He was informed that Liquid Medical Oxygen plant will be established by 31st October while tendering process has been initiated regarding establishment of Oxygen generating plant.
FC instructed the senior doctors to conduct regular ward rounds along with other consultants, nurses, para-medics and pharmacists to ensure proper medical facility to the patients. He issued strict instructions to doctors to further streamline patient care and ensure their duties to the best of their abilities to tackle effectively the challenge of COVID19.
He asked the Principal GMC to ensure that sufficient medical staff is available for managing the COVID patients in the hospitals and daily duty rosters are strictly adhered to by all for proper patientcare. He further asked the hospital administration to ensure that the services being provided in the GMC are up to public expectations and the concerns raised by general public are addressed.
Principal, GMC Jammu, Dr. Nasib Chand Digra, HODs and other senior officers of the hospital were present in the meeting.(KINS)
