Dr Samoon reviews modalities for establishment of private ITIs in JKUT

Jammu Dec 15 (KINS): Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Tuesday chaired a meeting to discuss modalities for establishment of private ITIs in Jammu and Kashmir.
Threadbare discussions were held on various issues related to the functioning and establishment of new private ITIs as per guidelines and norms of Directorate General of Training (DGT) and National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) in Jammu and Kashmir.
Director, Skill Development, Sajad Hussain Ganai, informed the meeting about the rules and norms for establishment of new ITIs besides apprising about the admission process in government as well as private institutions in Jammu and Kashmir.
He informed that about 12000 students took admission in different trades in government ITIs of entire Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr Asgar Samoon said that all the Industrial Training Institutes have set up their own workshops to train the student for generating their livelihood.
Dr Asgar Samoon asked the concerned officers to take all necessary steps for timely completion of process for establishment of new private ITIs so that maximum students of the UT could be benefited.
Among others, Additional Secretary, Skill Development, Kuldeep Sapolia; Joint Director, Skill Development Jammu, G M Bhat; Under Secretary, Skill Development, Naveed Badroo; Assistant Director, Skill Development, Mandeep Dogra; Principal, Government ITI Jammu, Rajendra Kumar besides senior officers of Skill Development Department from Kashmir division attended the meeting through video conferencing.
