JKWP president Mir Junaid meets LG, discusses developments

 Srinagar Feb 08: The Jammu Kashmir Workers Party president Mir Junaid called on the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha here at Raj Bhawan today. Mir congratulated the LG for the recent announcements made by the government for the people of  Jammu and Kashmir. Mir appreciated the new economic policy of the government and told the LG that it was surely  going to change the economic reality of Kashmir and make it a part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat’s story. Mir also lauded the government of Jammu and Kashmir’s budget for the financial year which is the highest in the country as per the population to fund ratio. Mir Junaid also discussed the New Educational Policy of the center and stressed on the need of integrating Jammu and Kashmir into the policy as soon as possible. Mir also highlighted the various issues of power shortage in the UT. The Lieutenant Governor assured him that the government was fully committed to make J&K power sufficient in the next five years. Discussing the issue of unemployment, Mir Junaid and the LG discussed the plan of providing employment to 80% of youth in the coming five years. Mir thanked the LG for the restoration of 4G internet service on mobile phones and said that the step was due as the masses were facing a lot difficulties due to the reduced speeds. Mir also requested to the LG to maximise the outreach to the common people who are in need of governmental assistance post the pandemic. The LG discussed the plan of vaccination with Mir and assured him that no citizen shall be left unaddressed if they are in need.
