CEO Srinagar says, Teachers have to join schools from 1st march, ‘Head of institutions to set in motion Covid- 19 SOPs from 20th Feb’

Srinagar, Feb 09 (KINS): The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Srinagar Tuesday late evening informed that teachers have to join schools from 1st March, while as the head of the institutions will set in motion Covid- 19 SoPs from 20th February.

“My order has been misinterpreted. It is not that schools are opening from 20th February.  As per the earlier order schools will open from 1st March and teachers also have to join from 1st March,” the CEO told news agency KINS over the phone.

He however said that the head of the institutions have to set in motion Covid-19 SoPs before opening of schools. “HoDs will make efforts right from 20th February to ensure arrangements, so that the schools will function safely and smoothly”.

It is to mention here that the preparations made for opening of High and Higher Secondary Schools shall be monitored by District Level Committees.

He said that concerned authorities in schools will have to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation facilities in the school.

The SOP list said, “Arrange for thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all areas, furniture, equipment, stationery, storage places, water tanks, kitchens, canteen, washrooms, laboratories, libraries.”

He also said that we need to ensure that working hand washing facilities, availability of key supplies like thermometers, disinfectants and soaps is available in the schools. (KINS)
