DC Kathua approves 40 compensation cases under SRE

KATHUA, JULY 10 (KINS): Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Yadav today chaired a meeting of the District Coordination cum Screening Committee in connection with Settlement of relief cases of families affected due to cross border firing and shelling in border villages.

Upon leaving Khardung-la, the terrain changes to a white sand desert as you approach the Nubra Valley, which is home to the Nubra Sand Dunes. Visit the Diskit Monastery, the oldest and biggest monastery in Ladakh, which also contains a sizable Buddha statue, if time permits.

A total of 45 cases were examined by the committee out of which 3 cases were rejected whereas 2 cases were found deficient of supported documents.

After the scrutiny of the cases, 40 cases of affected families were approved under which an ex-gratia cash relief of Rs 5, 45,700 will be given to families as Compensation for housing damages/losses, crop losses, death of animal etc in cross border firing under Security Related Expenditure ( SRE) grants.

ADC Atul Gupta, ACR, DySP HQ, XEN PWD, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Tehsildar Hiranagar were also present. (KINS)
