4th edition of Champions Trophy kicks off in Srinagar’s TRC ground

Srinagar, August 3 ( KINS ): The fourth edition of Champions Trophy cricket Tournament kicks off at TRC ground here today by the Director General of Youth Services and Sports  Mohammad Ashraf Bhat.

Prepare for the greatest experience after eating a nutritious breakfast. You will travel over some of the highest passes in the world on your adventure, and you will be greeted by ever-changing vistas of the desolate landscape. Stop at the café on Khardung-La Pass, the highest all-season motorable road in the world, and take in the scenery; you'll feel as though you're on top of the world. Upon leaving Khardung-la, the terrain changes to a white sand desert as you approach the Nubra Valley, which is home to the Nubra Sand Dunes. Visit the Diskit Monastery, the oldest and biggest monastery in Ladakh, which also contains a sizable Buddha statue, if time permits.

The tournament was organized by the Cricket Fraternity Dalgate (CFD) and about 32 teams across the valley will participated in the 30 over knockout basis game.

On the occasion of the inaugural match of the tournament, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Youth Services and Sports Muhammad Ashraf Bhat congratulated the Dalgate Cricket Fraternity for organizing such tournaments.

He said that it was the social responsibility of every fraternity to organize such sports activities so that the youth could be engaged in sports.

“I am just happy to be here today,” he said.

He said that the government would extend all possible support for organizing such sports activities. The director said that holding such tournaments gives an opportunity to the young players to showcase their talents and hone them.

“We want our players to be able to participate in national as well as international sports competitions,” he said.

Later, the inaugural match between Back Country Bashers (BCB)  and Kings XI Muran Pulwama was held in which BCB won the toss and elect bat first.

The BCB scored 195 runs in the allotted 30 over’s, Wasim scored highest 64 runs for BCB while in reply the Kings XI Muran bundled only on 61 runs resulting BCB defeated them with a huge margin of 134 runs. Mohsin declared man of the match on his best bowling spell in which he took six wickets.

All the matches will live broadcast on official channel of youtube and facebook of CFD.
