I Day celebrations to be held at all Panchayats across district: DC

BUDGAM, AUGUST 11 ( KINS ): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today convened a meeting at District Headquarter here to finalize the arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations.

Giving details regarding arrangements, the DC said that main function will be held at Sports Stadium Budgam, which will start with Shahnaie Wadan followed by unfurling of tricolor by the chief guest, who will also inspect the march past and take salute at the parade to be presented by contingents from J&K Police, Armed Police, CRPF, Home Guard, Fire and Emergency, NCC, besides contingents from various educational institutions.

During the celebrations, cultural programmes from the Education Department will also be presented.

The DC directed all concerned departments and agencies to ensure that all required arrangements are put in place well in time, so that celebrations are conducted smoothly. He also stressed for maintaining sanitation in and around the venues identified for the celebration of Independence Day.

Mirza directed for ensuring better security arrangements, parking facility, drinking water, proper seating arrangement etc. All the line departments shall install stalls at the venue depicting and demonstrating various kinds of services and schemes being implemented in the respective departments, he instructed.

Health department was directed to ensure Covid-19 sampling at the venue besides deployment of Para medical staff along with ambulance at the venue. Further CMO Budgam will ensure intensive Covid-19 sampling across the district.

The DC further said, similar functions would be held at all SDM and Tehsil Headquarters, where concerned authorities will unfurl the tricolour and take salute on the March past.

The meeting was also   attended by ADC, CPO, ACD, SDMs, Ex. Engineers of R&B and I&FC, DSWO, all BDOs, Tehsildars and other concerned officers and officials.
