Army organises Saheed Lance Naik Ranjit Singh Volleyball Tournament

Udhampur,Sept 29 ( KINS): Saheed Lance Naik Ranjit Singh Volleyball Tournament was organised by Indian Army at Banihal from 21 Sep 21- 28 Sep 2021, in which village youth participated with full josh and vigour. Lance Naik Ranjeet Singh is son of soil who belongs to Ramban District and has done the supreme sacrifice for the nation by laying his life for the motherland on 21 Oct 2018.

This tournament was organised to commemorate his sacrifice and pay our homage to the brave soul. The tournament was heart fully reciprocated by the local youths with their over-whelming participation.  Total 32 teams from different parts of Ramban district participated the competition and toiled hard for the coveted trophy.  The tournament was played on knock out basis. Final match of the tournament was played between Spiker Punch Chamalwas and Spiker Punch, Pogal at Banihal Helipad ground. Spiker Punch Chamalwas won ‘Saheed Lance Naik Ranjit Singh Volleyball Tournament 2021’. Shimpu Devi W/o Shaheed Lance Naik Ranjeet Singh, Miss Nagandra Bhutyal D/o Shaheed Lance Naik Ranjeet Singh, Mr Swaranjeet Singh Brother of Shaheed Lance Naik Ranjeet Singh, and Mrs Sapna Devi Sister of  Shaheed Lance Naik Ranjeet Singh were the Chief Guest on this occasion and various other civil dignitaries were also present during the occasion. As a token of appreciation, medals and trophy were awarded to the finalists.  The local populace thanked the Indian Army wholeheartedly for their initiative to motivate the sports talents of the area and appreciated the efforts made by Indian Army for providing such a platform to the youths of the Area.
