Modi govt has given honour, pride to J&K women: Vanathi

Srinagar, Oct 12( KINS) : Stating that the Narendra Modi led BJP government at the centre has given honour and pride to the women in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP Mahila Morcha National President Vanathi Srinivasan, said that an era of discrimination with our sisters here has come to an end after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A.

Addressing a meeting of BJP Mahila Morcha activists at Srinagar on Tuesday, along with the J&K President Sanjita Dogra and Morcha National Executive Member, Updesh Andotra, Vanathi Srinivasan, congratulated the women of Jammu and Kashmir for getting liberation from the chains which deprived them from their fundamental rights.

She said that what could not be done in seventy years for women, Narendra Modi government did in a day, which has given them dignified life now.

Vanathi said that J&K was the only state in India which had a very strange provision which deprived the daughters of the soil of their rights over property if they were married to other state or UT, which was most unfortunate and unjustified too. She also spoke on Swach Bharat, free ration to poor families, PM Awas Yojna and Mudra Yojna schemes of Modi government.

Sanjita Dogra, in her address, said that it is the same government under PM Narendra Modi, which has honoured the Muslim women by abolishing the practice of Tripple Talaq as a result of which they are now feeling more secure and happy. She said that the Modi government has taken care of every one, irrespective of caste, gender and region, which is the real governance and each one of us should come forward to educate our sisters about various schemes launched for the socio-economic upliftment of the women.

Prominent among those who were present in the meeting included J&K Mahila Morcha Vice President Rumsya, Secretary Rashida, Shakila, Kupwara District President, Bavita Bhat Pulwama District President, Nahida Bandipora District President, Habita Anantnag District President and Surinder Singh Srinagar Office Secretary.
