DC Anantnag urges residents to avail free Aadhaar updation facility

Anantnag Mar 16 (KINS): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Basharat Qayoom today made an appeal to the residents of the district to take advantage of the free opportunity to update their Aadhaar.

Appealing to all the residents of the district, he urged them to take advantage of this opportunity and update their Aadhaar documents online for free. He said it will not only save time and money but also ensure that Aadhaar information is up-to-date and accurate. He emphasized the importance of keeping mobile numbers updated in Aadhaar to access online services.

It is worth noting that the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made a people-centric decision to allow residents to update their Aadhaar documents online for free. This move will benefit millions of residents.

As part of the Digital India initiative, the UIDAI is encouraging residents to take advantage of the free document update facility on the myAadhaar portal. This free service will be available for the next three months, from March 15 to June 14, 2023.

It is important to note that this service is only free on the myAadhaar portal and will continue to attract a fee of Rs 50 at physical Aadhaar centers, as was previously the case. (KINS)
