Principal Secretary unveils first edition of JKEDIs’ compendium on entrepreneurship schemes

SRINAGAR, MAY 26: Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Prashant Goyal, today released first edition of compendium on entrepreneurship and employment related schemes compiled by Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI).
This informative compendium highlights government’s commitment towards fostering an enabling environment for entrepreneurial growth and employment opportunities in the region. The document will serve as a valuable resource for aspiring entrepreneurs and young individuals seeking information and support to start their own businesses or find employment.
“Dissemination of information regarding various employment and entrepreneurship related initiatives undertaken by the UT government is necessary to sensitize the educated unemployed youth for setting up of viable business ventures and will prove to be a guiding source for existing as well as potential entrepreneurs,” maintained Prashant Goyal.
The compendium included a comprehensive collection of various schemes, initiatives and programs being implemented by the government to promote entrepreneurship and generate employment opportunities. It will provide details about eligibility criteria, financial assistance, training programs and other support mechanisms available for youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The startup environment is booming globally and many successful businesses are being built, setting industry standards of their own and propelling the industry forward. This compendium, though a small step, can facilitate beginning of a flourishing entrepreneurial career,” said Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Director, JKEDI. “Under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, the Institute aims to empower and encourage the youth to explore entrepreneurial ventures, which can lead to economic growth, job creation and overall development in the region,” he added.
This compendium highlights the government’s focus on fostering a culture of innovation, self-employment, and sustainable economic development. It will play a crucial role in disseminating information and creating awareness among the youth about various schemes and opportunities available to them.
